I am a licensed registered nurse. Can I get college credit for my license in the Health Sciences Bachelor’s degree program?

Yes, college credit is awarded for the following licenses:

  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist
  • Licensed Radiation Therapist
  • Licensed Registered Nurse
  • Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse
  • Licensed Massage Therapist
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician
What are the General Education Requirements?

Distribution requirements for general education ensure that all students develop basic competence (at least 100-level courses/examinations) in the areas of arts and sciences (humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and mathematics), as well as specific abilities in written English and information literacy.

What can I do with a Health Sciences Bachelor’s degree?

Students in this program prepare to meet the growing business demands of today’s health care industry by developing skills needed by health care managers and administrators.

When can I start the Health Sciences Bachelor’s degree program?

You can start any time. The BS in Health Sciences programs accept applications for admission on a rolling or continuous basis. Once you’ve been admitted, the next step is to enroll. Online enrollment requires a free MyExcelsior Web site user account. Course terms start every two months, so you can begin almost any time.

Health Care Management Bachelor’s

Am I eligible for the Health Care Management Bachelor’s program?

The BS in Health Care Management is an open enrollment program. Although a background or experience in a health care field is helpful, neither is required for admittance into the program. Anyone with a high school diploma or equivalent is eligible to apply.

How much will the Health Care Management Bachelor’s program cost?

The total cost of the BS in Health Care Management program varies for each student depending on how much transfer credit is applied and how the student completes the remaining credit needed. Information about the most current fee schedule is available at Fees and Tuition. You may also contact our Admissions Office to request the fee schedule by calling toll free 888-647-2388, ext. 27. You should budget for textbooks, Internet service provider expenses, and miscellaneous charges as well. The BS in Health Care Management does not require any travel or clinical fees.

Health Care Management Dual Degree

Am I eligible for the Health Care Management Dual Degree program?

The combined BS in Health Care Management/MBA is an open enrollment program. Although a background or experience in a health care field is helpful, neither is required for admittance into the program. Anyone with a high school diploma or equivalent is eligible to apply.

How much will the Health Care Management Dual Degree program cost?

By combining the BS and MBA into one program you save both time and money.

The total cost of the combined BS in Health Care Management/MBA program varies for each student depending on how much transfer credit is applied and how the student completes the remaining credit needed. Information about the most current fee schedule is available at Fees and Tuition. Undergraduate fees apply until you enter the MBA phase of the program for which graduate fees apply.

Will any of my previous graduate credit apply to a Health Sciences Master’s degree?

Up to 18 graduate-level credits from regionally accredited institutions, with grades of B- or better, may transfer. Coursework for the specialization/no-specialization areas must be less than seven years old.

Am I eligible for the Certificate in Health Care Informatics program?

Admission to the Informatics Certificate Program is open to anyone who has earned a bachelor’s degree in a health care discipline or a bachelor’s degree and work experience in a health care organization.

What can I do with the Certificate in Health Care Informatics?

The graduate Certificate in Health Care Informatics helps the professional build and develop new skills in the field of informatics and technology. Growing shortages in health care professions have placed demands on health care systems to deliver care more efficiently and effectively. Informatics positions in health care agencies and in consulting corporations have expanded accordingly to meet these needs. As part of the learning experience the student will have the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the current health care informatics climate, develop and evaluate a database in response to a specific health care need, apply project management skills in developing a group project, participate as a team member developing and evaluating information systems, and evaluate current issues and challenges in the field.
